Sustainability Communication

Sustainable economic activity means that a company pursues its business in such
a way, that the environment and the climate are protected and/or preserved,
that employees and suppliers are treated fairly and that society is not harmed.

This can be achieved on an ecological level e.g. by reducing energy consumption,
by employing renewable resources, by minimising water consumption and reducing
the build-up of waste. At a social level sustainability is achieved - for example -
by creating fair working conditions as well as prohibiting exploitation and child labour.

A comprehensive sustainability strategy is a must for all companies that operate in the
public eye. Whereas the focus used to be on the products themselves, the entire added
value chain is long coming under scrutiny.  

Not only are more and more consumers interested in the sustainability issue, but also
trade partners, corporate clients and investors are becoming increasingly interested too.
Lip service and vague obligations no longer suffice: plausible facts and comprehensible
numbers are what counts nowadays.
